PROJECTS

DIVA has put together a programme of exciting new projects for 2010-2011

a new two-year Arts and Wellbeing project taking place across the Wakefield District with funding from NHS Wakefield District

Diva's prestigous Arts & mental Health Project, funded by WMDC Family Services is now in its fifth year.
Discover is a referral-based project and you can find out more about the project and the range of activities by clicking the link above.

Pix Mix is an Arts & Mental Health Project based in North Kirklees and funded by Kirklees MC as part of their programme of arts activity. Pix Mix is a referral-based project and was originally part of the larger DISCOVER project before becoming a separate project in 2007. Click above for more information about PIX MIX.

A new grant scheme funded by WMDC Family Services providing grants of up to £500. Grants are available to voluntary groups in the Wakefield District for projects that enhance mental health and well being through participation in the arts.

The Comic project is sponsored by the Wakefield NHS Community Alcohol Awareness Service and gave young people in Airedale an opportunity to produce creative photographic work. The original work produced by the project has been re-printed and this project is now being used as a model for future work in this field.

DIVA's Kaleidoscope Project, funded by Wakefield NHS is also addressing mental health issues in the Wakefield District. Kaleidoscope aims to help individuals coping with stress and depression by providing participation in the arts and improve self esteem and confidence.

And of course DIVA will be continuing in our fundamental role, maintaining the membership network and providing a united voice for voluntary arts groups in Wakefield

Diva membership is open to individuals,
groups and larger organisations, living or working in the Wakefield District

Staff, parents and pupils from Airedale High School
gathered together with DIVA Staff and NHS Officials
to celebrate the launch of the project comics.

These comics have been produced by a group of students
from the School as part of the DIVA Comic Project

Students from Airedale High were involved at all stages
in the process of creating the comics.

Students attending the ceremony were presented
with framed copies of the finished comics
and their original photography as part of the ceremony.

DIVA Comic Project was funded by the NHS
