Local Network Fund for Children and Young
People - England
The Local Network Fund for Children and Young People to develop community
projects and activities for children and young people with limited opportunities
or access to services.
Total Fund Value is £40,000,000. Most grants will range between £250 and
£7,000, for one year's funding only.
Two-year funding may be awarded in exceptional circumstances.
A seven-year programme that closes 31 March 2008 providing advice and
support on project development, establishing and running community groups
and developing safeguarding procedures together withgrants between £250
and £7000.
The fund guidelines have recently been amended to take account of the
Every Child Matters priorities (see website: www.everychildmatters.gov.uk
).

Community
Champions Fund - English regions.
The Community Champions Fund aims to:
a) increase the skills levels of individual volunteers to enable them
to act as inspirational figures, community entrepreneurs, community mentors,
community leaders;
b) improve the involvement of communities in regeneration and learning
activity by supporting key individuals who can drive forward community
projects and pass on their expertise to others.
The fund is worth £3m per year with grants to individuals of up to £2000
and averaging £1250. It is only available in England. To find your regional

SITA
Trust - changes to funding schemes
SITA
Trust runs two funding programmes:
Enhancing Communities Programme for community improvement projects.
The Small Grants Scheme launched on 6 November
2006 is now open for applications. It provides fast-track access to funding
for community improvement applications up to £10,000. The application
form and guidance notes are available on their website, along with SITA
Trust's Green Guide for applicants.
Deadlines 15 December 2006 & 2 February 2007.
Large
Grants Scheme - for projects between £10,001 and £50,000. Application
forms and guidance notes are available now on their website.
A Challenge Fund for projects of £250,000
is being launched early in 2007 for projects that are within ten miles

Biffaward
Biffaward has teamed up with the Countryside Agency, the East of England
Development Agency and all Rural Community Councils to improve villages,
towns and cities.
The fund offers three levels of support:
The Small Grants Scheme provides grants between
£250 and £5,000. to enable groups to quickly access lower levels of funding
to improve the quality of life in their community. Open to any not-for-profit
community led organisation with its own bank account.
Groups can apply for between £250-£5,000
for projects up to £10,000 in total.
The Main Grants Scheme grants between £5,001
and £50,000 for Amenity projects that provide and improve community facilities.

First
Light Funding for Film Making by Young People
First Light Pilot Awards open to youth focused organisations for a film
of between 1 and 5 minutes long. Maximum grant is £5,000. Partnership
funding: A minimum of 30% of the total project cost with at least 15%
in cash. Timescale is 4 months.
First Light Studio Awards
These
are open to organisations with track record of filmmaking with young people
and proven outreach ability or strong partners with all relevant skills
for between 2 and 6 films of 5 to 10 minutes long. Maximum grant is £6,000
per film with a maximum grant of £36,000 for the whole proposal. Partnership
Funding: A minimum of 50% of the total proposal costs with at least 25%
in cash. Timescale is 8 months.

UnLtd a charity which supports social
entrepreneurs - people with vision, drive, commitment and passion who
want to change the world for the better gives out 1,000 "Level 1" Awards
of between £500 and £5,000, each year across the UK, aimed at individuals
or informal groups of people who want to set up new projects and who have
both the ideas and the commitment to develop projects which will benefit
their community.
They do not support organisations.

The
Big Boost (England)
The
Big Boost is an awards programme that supports young people who are keen
to get involved in their communities. The awards which will run for two
years from the 1st November to help young people set up and run projects
that will make a lasting difference to them as well as to the areas they
live in. A Big Boost Award is cash plus the support to help young people
make their ideas a reality. Funded by the Big Lottery Fund, the programme
awards grants of between £250-£5,000 to help individuals and small groups
of people aged between 11-25, deliver projects in their local areas. Applications
