About Us
 
Founded as the Horbury Concert Society in 1964, we organise six concerts each year at Jubilee Hall, Wakefield Girls' High School (entrance in Margaret Street). We are a Registered Charity. All our artists are full time professional musicians and many have international reputations. Concerts take place on Saturday evenings commencing at 7.30pm. The venue is accessible, with interval refreshment facilities and plenty of free car parking in Margaret Street and nearby..

The venue for all the concerts is Jubilee Hall, Wakefield Girls' High School, Margaret Street, Wakefield.
Admission is £10 with concessions and under 16s admitted free with a paying adult.
Free admission for a carer accompanying a disabled person.

BENJAMIN FRITH
The internationally-known pianist comes to Wakefield to play a concert featuring the B Minor Sonata by Liszt, the Pathetique Sonata by Beethoven and music by Mozart and Mendelssohn

THE FITZWILLIAM STRING QUARTET
This world- famous quartet will play an arrangement of Mozart's popular Eine Kleine Nachtmusik and pieces by Borodin and Beethoven

For their concluding concert of the season the Concert Society has arranged this orchestral evening with a programme which includes Schubert's 5th Symphony, items by Mozart and Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings
